A concentrated moisturiser with benefits! It is wonderful for those noticeable spots of pigmentation and skin concerns, particularly on the face, head, neck and hands. Apply twice daily to clean skin followed by your moisturiser.
SolarCareB3 can help reduce the appearance of sun damage, fine lines, hyperpigmented brown spots and red blotchiness by replenishing cellular energy that re-enables the skin’s natural immune system to function, which allows DNA to repair and rejuvenate itself.
SolarCareB3 is Fragrance, Paraben and Gluten Free, and is NOT tested on animals (it is VEGAN formula)!
Topical B3 has many other properties in the skin which make it useful in reducing the appearance of sun damaged skin:
- reducing uneven pigmentation by inhibiting the transfer of melanosomes to the keratinocytes
- reducing trans epidermal water loss, thus hydrating dry, sun damaged skin
- improving skin barrier function which reduces redness in rosacea, often seen in association with sun damage
- increasing ceramides on the skin surface which improves the appearance of ageing skin
PREGNANCY:
SolarCareB3 should be safe in pregnancy as only a very small amount of Vitamin B3 is absorbed through the skin, however, HIGH doses are not recommended so if an oral supplement is already being taken then the cream should not be used as well.
ECZEMA:
SolarCareB3 can be used for eczema as the B3 helps restore the lipid barrier of the skin as well as reducing water loss, keeping the skin hydrated so there is less dryness and less redness. It is NOT recommended on broken skin.
REACTIONS:
About 2% of people with sensitive skin will react to topical B3 and develop redness and itching. It happens very rarely and has never been serious. If the skin gets red/blotchy then it may just be a sign that the niacinamide is doing its job. This seems to happen sometimes when the skin is severely sun damaged.
